Ep 50: The Picture Book's Story

The team continues their search for Sasuke within the hideout. Kabuto talks to the Yamato clone, suggesting that the map only exists in his head, but the clone refuses to release him.

Naruto trips since he's still tired from when he used the Kyuubi, and falls unconscious. Sai picks him up and rests with him. Naruto wakes. Sai says he's just like his brother - noisy, rash, vulgar, and going all out whenever he did anything. Sai takes out his book and remembers the past: Shuriken/kunai training while young Sai, about 10, draws in his book. Older Sai, about currently age, at most 2 years ago, and his brother fight ANBU-like masked enemies. Sai trips while running. His brother helps him out. At night, the rest of the team (Sai's brother and a girl) sleep while Sai works on his book.

Naruto calls him back to reality and now Sai remembers what he wanted to draw in his book - a picture of their dreams. The new picture shows Sai and his brother holding hands and smiling. Orochimaru suddenly appears and asks Sai which side will he take now. Naruto and Sai get up to confront him. Oro whips out two snakes from his arms (Sen'ei Jashu:Hidden Shadow Snake Hands) to test them and sees Sai is on Naruto's side. Naruto orders Sai to leave to find Sasuke.

Yamato feels a change in Naruto's chakra. He and Sakura race to find him.

Naruto creates a bunch of clones. Oro defeats them with his hidden snakes hands and flings real Naruto back. Oro attacks again but a large log protects Naruto from harm. Yamato and Sakura appear beside him.

Meanwhile Sai draws a lot of little mice and performs ninpou choujuu giga to bring them to life.

Orochimaru says he'll let Naruto live for now, then he nicely asks him to kill at least one Akatsuki for him. Oro says he has business with Sai and disappears. The team now has to find Sai. Naruto suggests usiig his mass shadow clones. Sakura sees Sai's backpack and the book with the final picture. Yamato takes out a black book from Sai's pack and realizes it's a bingo book with X's over people who have already been eliminated.

One of Sai's mice finds Sasuke. Sai opens the door and sees Sasuke resting in bed.

End: Ninja Academy Special Lecture - ANBU stands for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai - Elite Assassination and Tactical Force composed of handpicked shinobi from the village and are in a different league from normal forces. They work directly under the Hokage. Everything pertaining to them and their special missions is treated with absolute secrecy. They wear animal masks to hide their faces and any info they obtain goes through countless security checks and procedures. Yamato shows a clip of Kakashi from his ANBU days with his nin dogs.
