Ep 16: The Secret Behind a Jinchuuriki

Team Kakashi looks down on Yuura's body and discusses whether he was a spy. Team Gai looks down at a body. Lee asks if it’s a transformation jutsu but Neji says it’s higher level. Kakashi thinks back to the fireball of the Uchiha – it was the real thing.

Itachi and Kisame run out of chakra, The sacrifices were only given 30% of their power. They were not perfect clones since they were not given as much chakra as they could have, which limits their maximum power and techniques.

Gaara’s still being extracted. Akatsuki Leader thanks Itachi and Kisame for delaying the Konoha teams. Sasori complains he deserves some gratitude since his underlings were sacrificed. Leader says Sasori should thank his shapeshifting technique since they were able to become full Akatsuki members even for a short time.

Pakkun leads Team Gai to hideout.

Chiyo observes they used a powerful technique to delay them, which means they’re extracting the bijuu to make another jinchuuriki. Through sealing techniques, the bijuu powers can join with the jinchuuriki. Chiyo writes on a scroll and summons a mechanical wind-up bird to take back a message to Sand Village. Chiyo says countless wars were started by jinchuuriki. They need a lot of time and powerful sealing techniques to extract the bijuu and the jinchuuriki will die. The other two Sand jinchuuriki died when the bijuu was extracted. Sakura tears up as she worries about Naruto.

Chiyo’s brother receives the message bird. The Council wants to appoint new Kazekage and they don't want Gaara back, since he’s unstable with a monster inside and can lose it any time. Most villages still fear him. Kankuro threatens to beat up the councilor who dares to say this.

Years ago the third Kazekage was kidnapped. Problems came up and war broke out. The Third was the most powerful kazekage but his body was never found. Last time, searching for the Third allowed the borders to be breached. They need to secure their borders now. Temari was sent to the borders to show even a sibling was not known to be rescuing Gaara.

The Leader orders Zetsu to clean up the sacrifices. Itachi reports on Kakashi's team and mentions Chiyo. Sasori recognizes the name.

Naruto’s still tired from using oodama rasengan. Kakashi orders a break, since their pace has slowed since the fight with Itachi and tomorrow they may have to fight at 100%.

Gai still feels the effects from opening the 6th gate, and runs into tree. Team Gai takes a break.

Temari team reaches the border fortress.

Zetsu talks to himself as he disposes of the body. He apparently eats it.

End: Konoha Tourism Association - narrated by Naruto who takes Temari and Kankurou to the hot springs. Temari asks for soap. Naruto tries to take a peek and gets hit by bowl.
Later, Temari fans herself at dumpling restaurant. Kankurou talks of building a bath at Sand. Temari thinks of Gaara’s desert coffin at the chuunin exams.

Thoughts:
Yuura was a spy and he was on council for four years in charge of security, but controlled by Sasori. Was he unwillingly controlled by Sasori or was he Sasori’s willing minion?
