Sakon observes that Jiroubou and Kidoumaru are not coming. Tayuya notes that they finished one third of their plan in half a day. Flashback to match with jounins and encounter with Shikamaru’s team. Sakon comments that they ran into too much interference and may not make it back in time.

Shikamaru decides to wait until the next day for the plan but Naruto protests. Kiba asks isn’t it more advantageous to attack in the dark. Shikamaru explains that in the dark the only advantage is the single moment when they strike and if they are not successful at that point, the enemies will collapse their defense around that barrel then they will be in the dark and unable to do anything while the enemies don’t have to move. Shikamaru comments that it would be different with Neji’s Byakugan. Kiba mentions his nose sense of smell but Shikamaru says he already included that in his calculations. Shikamaru also says that his kage mane would be affected if the moon were blocked by clouds.

Sakon is concerned they won’t make it in time. Tayuya comments that they were told to bring it back by tomorrow. At Orochimaru’s home, he is taking a shower. His arms are decaying and bleeding. Kabuto says there are many other bodies ready and Orochimaru can also use his. Orochimaru insists on Sasuke but Kabuto says the curse was stronger than expected. Flashback to Death God/Third Hokage pulling out Orochimaru’s arms’ spirit and sealing them. Kabuto walks to a large arena with many sealed doors. He dispels the seals and tells the prisoners that the last one standing will be let out. Then Kabuto goes to wake up Kimimaro.

It’s dawn now. A green solution drips into an IV attacked to someone lying down with tubes running in and out. Kabuto monitors the body with computers. Kabuto tells Kimimaro it’s no longer the Sound Five and they have procured his successor who has been given the Heaven seal similar to his Earth seal and who also possesses an advanced bloodline. Kabuto says he wonders who is stronger. Kimimaro starts to get excited and Kabuto flows more of the green liquid into him. Kimimaro asks how long will he live and wonders do humans have a purpose when they are born. Flashback to a young Kimimaro. Kabuto says Orochimaru is in trouble but there’s nothing that Kimimaro can do as he has lost his value as a container. A new container is on the way but it’s too late. Kabuto looks at a monitor and one guy is left standing in the arena.

Orochimaru appears in the arena and uses genjustu or a paralysis or hypnosis technique to paralyze the guy who now sees a huge snake and thinks he’s going to be eaten. But Orochimaru says he will let him out and also grant him one wish. The guy says they were captured for his experiments and asks that he release his clan. Orochimaru says "Your strong will will remain in my subconsciousness." Purple chakra comes out of Orochimaru and the guy screams. Kabuto notes that Orochimaru will not be able to transfer to another body for several years. Kimimaro forces himself to get up, pulling lots of tubes and wires along and says he will retrieve the new container for Orochimaru to repay him for his uselessness.

Sakon and Tayuya stop. The Leaf team finally caught up. Sakon attacks immediately, avoids Naruto’s kunai, then uses Taren ken (Match punch) against Kiba and Shikamaru while Naruto makes a clone to start his rasengan. But Kiba and Shikamaru were actually Naruto’s kage bunshins. Naruto tries to hit Sakon with his rasengan but he grabs Naruto’s arm. Then Kiba approaches using Tsuuga, going right through Naruto, another clone! Sakon ducks to avoid Kiba but Kiba heads straight toward Tayuya. Tayuya notes that they placed her and Sakon in a straight line. Shikamaru catches Tayuya in his shadow bind while Kiba grabs the barrel. Sakon approaches and Shikamaru forces Tayuya to walk toward him. He releases her as Sakon crashes into her. Kiba throws the barrel to Naruto and the Leaf team runs off. Sakon activates his cursed seal and follows.

Looks like Orochimaru has gangrene in his arms. Lost of blood circulation will turn limbs black and they will decay like that.
