Ep 9: Team Kakashi Heads Out!

The sand-nin find explosive tags and carefully detonate them since they go off if you try to remove them. Sand advisors argue about selecting a new Kazekage or go after Gaara.

Sandnin reports that repairs on the entrance will take a half day longer. Baki thinks thanks to Gaara the village made it without damage. Sandnin reports that Kankurou was found about a half day's walk from the village unconscious. The trackers have retrieved the puppets and Kankurou. Some of the trackers continue to follow Gaara, but all of them are now dead/unconscious. Sasori meets up with Deidara.

Team Kakashi meet up with Temari and reports to her what happened.

Kankurou is quickly brought into the operating room but they can't neutralize the poison.

Naruto runs ahead, saying they're after him and Gaara because of what is inside them. He admits to Sakura that he has the Kyuubi inside. Sakura seems to be unsurprised. Now she understands why the adults treated Naruto so poorly.

It's the next day and Kankurou is barely conscious. He tells Baki about Sasori of the Red Sand. Baki orders the pursuit squad to return even though they haven’t heard from them. He leaves to consult with the siblings.

Kakashi warns Sakura about soldier pills and “girls your age shouldn't overeat.” Sakura speeds ahead. Temari thinks "A lot of people would call that sexual harassment, you old fart."

Sakura asks Naruto about Itachi. Sakura has been looking through Tsunade's library and now she understands Sasuke's words of vengeance and why he left Konoha to seek power with Orochimaru. Sakura says they only have half a year to prevent Oro from taking over Saskue's body. She thinks the closer they get to Akatsuki, the closer to Orochimaru and closer to Sasuke.

Baki climbs a long way to see the two siblings. They’re really, really old retired shinobi. The brother notices someone's presence. He calls his sister. She does not respond so he thinks she's dead, but she was just tricking him. Baki arrives and asks for their help but they refuse until he mentions that her grandson is a member of Akatsuki.

End: Special lecture on summoning creatures by Sakura- time-space ninjutsu. Ends with Naruto summoning Gamabunta on top of himself and Sakura

Review: Nice development with the introduction of Sasori’s relatives.

Chiyo = sister
Sasori doesn't know where his Jinchuuri is.
Gaara was the Jinchuuri for the Ichibi.
Takamaru is the Sand's fastest messenger bird.

Thoughts:
Brother looks blind – no eyeballs.
When Naruto tells Sakura he has the Kyuubi inside, Sakura seems to be unsurprised.
Sakura says she's going to save both of them (Naruto and Sasuke) as if she were stronger than they are- don’t think so!
Temari must die for insulting Kakashi!
