Ep 8: Team Kakashi Heads Out!

Sasori is annoyed that Kankurou is wasting his time.

Meanwhile Konoha messenger bird handlers get the message – a Class-1 emergency alert which needs to be decoded. A decoder runs past Team Kakashi.

Deidara says Gaara has siblings, one of which uses puppet techniques. Kankurou tries to attack Deidara again but Sasori knocks down Karasu again and announces he is Kankurou’s opponent.
Baki and his men remove rubble and prepare to pursue Kankurou.

Kankurou attacks with Karasu and Kuroari running around Sasori. They attack with kunai. Sasori blocks, but then Kuroari comes from below and knocks Sasori up in the air and catches him inside. Karasu comes apart and stabs Kuroari.

Tsunade gives Team Kakashi a C-rank convoy transport mission and as expected Naruto protests. The decoder girl comes in with the message.

Karoari opens up to reveal a sand clone.

Tsunade reports that the Kazekage has been kidnapped by the Akatsuki and the Sand have requested assistance. She gives Team Kakashi the mission to go to Sand and report back.

Sasori is able to read all of Kankurou's attacks. Kankurou throws a poisonous smoke bomb and senbon but Sasoru is unaffected. Sanshouo blocks an attack from Sasori’s tail. But Sasori knows its weak spot and hits the hinge of the shield. The shield breaks off. Sasori’s tail catches Kankurou in the chest. Sasori says a puppet is only as strong as its weakest joint.

Teamri's cup cracks and she gets a bad feeling.

Kankurou's attacks continue to be futile. Sasori destroys all the puppets with his tail. Sasori explains he is the designer of those puppets!

Jiraiya sleeps and snores in bliss. A frog with a scroll on its back jumps on his head repeatedly to wake him. The scroll informs him the Kazekage has been kidnapped.

Sasori has fun with his successor. Kankurou falls down, hurt by the poison from the tail. Sasori tries to finish him off, but Kankurou is able to maneuver a puppet arm with a blade to cut off a piece of Sasori’s mask. Sasori leaves saying the poison will kill him in three days.

Team Kakashi is about to leave but Jiraiya arrives to tell Tsunade about Gaara, but she already knows. Jiraiya questions her decision then tells Naruto not to be reckless and don't use that power. He tells Kakashi to keep an eye on Naruto and not let him do something stupid.

End: ANBU investigative report - Tsunade talks about the allies Konoha and the Sand and the war started by Orochimaru.

Review: Nice fight but Kankurou is completely overwhelmed.

Sasori of the Red Sands - genius designer who created the puppet squads. Scorpion emblem on puppets refer to Sasori which means scorpion.
Sasori deserted the village over 20 years ago

What does Jiraiya mean by “that power” ? Is it the power of Kyuubi?
