49: Something Important

A hail of kunai by Kabuto rains from above. Naruto attacks with rasengan, but Kabuto easily steps aside and kicks him away. More clones attack but Kabuto generates his chakra scalpel and takes them out. Yamato attacks with wood emerging from the ground. Kabuto dodges but Sakura runs up and almost lands a punch. She hits the rock instead, releasing a hive of bees. Kabuto cuts apart all the bees but realizes fighting the three of them puts him at a disadvantage and luck is on their side. He releases Sai then says he feels sorry for them, especially Naruto since even if he defeats him Naruto's wasting his time as Sasuke is not the same person as he once knew.

Kabuto gets attacked from behind by Sai who pins him to the ground. Sai thinks about Naruto's words on how Sasuke acknowledged him. Sai wants to change and if bonds are that important, he can learn from watching Naruto and Sasuke. He wants to see that bond for himself. Yamato entwines Kabuto in wood and creates a wood clone to watch over him. Kabuto laughs and says they don't know the real Sasuke.

Yamato asks Kabuto for Sasuke's location. He says by now he's finished his training with Oro and returned to the inner area. But he doesn't know which room since there's more than two inner chambers. Oro's room is there as well.

The team splits into two: Naruto-Sai, Yamato-Sakura to search for Sauke. They go from room to room opening each door.

End: Konoha Super Trivia Quiz with Yamato as Host, Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and a stuffed doll replacing Kakashi. Second chuunin exam the names of the three ninja from Sound - Sai gets it right: Dozu, Zaku, Rin.

Review: A lot of time spent on showing the team searching for Sasuke and Kabuto killing bees.

Notes: Kabuto tells them the truth since he thinks they'll all die anyway.

Thoughts: Kabuto kills all the bees with his chakra scalpel. There were a lot of bees. He didn't get stung at all. Less believable than Hinata's technique.
