46: The Unfinished Page

Upon hearing that he's the one who injured Sakura, Naruto flashbacks to injuring Jiraiya. He realizes the destruction of the bridge, the crater, and the injury to Sakura's arm were all caused by him. Yamato says he does not need to tell him the truth but he wants him to stop relying on the Kyuubi's power or he will hurt himself or his comrades and he's strong enough without it. His strength is his own chakra and its ability to withstand the force of the Kyuubi's horrible powers. He can save Sasuke and protect Sakura with his own strength, not the Kyuubi's.

Kabuto washes his surgical instruments in the river. Oro tells him to wait till they get back but he says he has to do it now or they'll get dull. Sai washes his face then rummages through his bag and realizes his notebook is gone.

Sakura takes out Sai's book. Flashback to when she first asked him about it. She flips through his book.

Sai thinks back to when he lost it and realizes it was when Kabuto jumped him. Kabuto asks Oro for an unscarred male corpse to replace the 15-16 year old used for the diversion. He takes out a scroll with various summon circles and one empty one and complains it drives him crazy if they're not ordered by age. Oro asks if his blood type is A. Kabuto says his blood type is AB. The hideout is nearby so they get going.

Meanwhile Yamato shows Naruto a diagram that shows a formation that's used to corner the enemy. Sakura calls them over to show them Sai's book. There are no words or dialogue and it seems to be about the two boys on the covers. Naruto notices that the black haired boy's clothes, armor and weapons change as he defeats his enemies on the other page. It's the same progression with the white haired boy. It seems to be a story about two boys developing. But there is no ending since the end of the story/middle of the book when they meet is incomplete - blank on the white haired boy's page. Only the black haired boy's page is drawn but there's no face. He looks like Sai. The other boy is probably his brother who is dead.

Meanwhile, Oro, Kabuto and Sai reach the hideout. Mountain rocks open and close behind them. Yamato's wood clone, part of a tree, contacts Yamato. Oro, Kabuto and Sai see Sasuke whose sharingan is activated. He complains, "You're late."

Review: Exchange between Kabuto and Oro was amusing and shows a different side of their relationship.

Thoughts: Naruto's power is the power to withstand the Kyuubi's power. That's actually quite powerful.
