The old men and his men arrive at the manor. He sends two in to deal with Kurenai and get Yakumo and the other to stand guard.

Kurenai notices the symbol on their weapons is that of the Kurama family. The two men demand Kurenai given up Yakumo. They use genjustu and wrap Kurenai and Yakumo in vines but they are caught in Kurenai's genjutsu again. They’re covered in pink petals and suffocate.

The team encounters the ninja standing guard. Naruto attacks but misses. A beanstalk comes out from the ground and the ninja appears from a pod. Naruto’s caught in vines and is about to be stabbed but Shino stands in front of him to take the hit. It’s a bug clone. Shino says genjutsu does not work on insects, and as the ninja is covered in bugs, his genjutsu is dispelled but then he disappears. Kiba and Akamaru use gatsuuga to dig up the ground. Gai finally takes out the enemy, but Naruto is still under genjutsu and Sakura has to release him again.

They finally arrive at the mansion and find four men trapped in genjutsu but no sign of Kurenai. Hinata searches using her byakugan and sees Kurenai outside.

Kurenai is caught by a vine. She tries to dispel the genjutsu but can't. The old man appears from the trunk of a huge tree. He asks her to hand over Yakumo. Kurenai stabs herself in the shoulder to dispel the illusion. She disappears, but the old man follows her scent of blood and hits her with shuriken. Naruto attacks the old man but he disappears. Hinata sees he's behind Naruto with her byakugan. Naruto creates clones to attack him. He runs off after losing to Naruto.

Yakumo lies sleeping as Sakura reports her condition to Kurenai. The four Kurama ninja are still sleeping in their genjutsu. Gai tells them all to go back to the village wih Yakumo while he stays. He says the Kurama family will not be able to “deceive these eyes of mine.” (Kurama can mean deceive).

Naruto sits by Yakumo's bedside. She wakes and he asks her if she still resents Kurenai for sealing her powers. She says Kurenai hates her. But Naruto points out Kurenai protected her.

Kiba wants to know how what's happening now is connected with Kurenai leaving the team. Kurenai tells them about the Kurama clan, Yakumo;s potential and the Third Hokage's orders for Kurenai to train her and how she sealed her powers. Kurenai says maybe she was jealous of Yakumo’s powers and someone as selfish as herself can't be their sensei. Her team thinks she's still hiding something. Shino noticed her hands shook as she talked about the past, but when she was calm her hands didn't shake, that's when she was lying. He says the heart doesn't quiver when you're lying. They think she's covering up for someone.

Yakumo remembers a conversation between Kurenai and the Third. Kurenai reports that Yakumo's ability will not awake for awhile. But Sandaime is concerned about what will happen in the future that clan's power will cause the downfall of Konoha and they have to be wiped out when that time comes. Yakumo also says her parents were jounin and were killed by a fire in broad daylight. Report said it was an accident but the report was sealed away and she believes the Third ordered her parents to be killed.

Review: The fights are repetitive and boring. Vines and more and more vines.

Kurama can mean deceived.
Unkai = old man, guardian of the Kurama Clan

Thoughts:
Did they say that the Kurama family had declined and none could make jounin? The old man sems to be jounin level and Yakumo parents were jounin. Maybe her parents were the last to make jounin.
