167: Pushing Through the Raging Dattebayo Special - Part 2

Chishima enters the building and finds a trap door leading into the water. He falls in and is carried outside where he finds Naruto caught in a genjutsu. Moushou is about to pull Naruto into the water but Chishima’s yell wakes him. Naruto stabs Moushou in the shoulder with his kunai. Moushou returns to the boat in the middle of the lake where Toki is tied up. Moushou flings off his disguise to reveal his true self. He says his name is Houki the traveling ninja and performs the seals for Suiton Suiryuu-dan no jutsu (water element, water dragon technique). Naruto grabs Chishima and leaps out of the way but Houki throws shurikens and hits Chishima who threw himself in front of Naruto. Chishima collaspes in Naruto’s arms. Houki performs the seals for suiton daibaku no jutsu (water element, great explosion technique) and a great wave washes over Naruto.

Meanwhile the rest of the team is still fighting the ninjas. Kakashi is hit from behind with a couple of shurikens from Hokushin, who says if he can defeat the copy ninja he can move up among the Watari. He slices Kakashi in half with his sword but it’s only a log! Kakashi grabs him in a head lock from behind and says there isn’t a need to use the sharingan against him and Hokushin collapses to the ground. Kakashi, Neji and Tenten run into the building and see the trap door.

Houki is about to kill Toki who has given up all hope of revenge. Naruto is underwater and sees a vision of Sagi pleading with him to save his sister. Houki is about to kill Toki when the water swirls around him and Naruto leaps out of the water and punches him out of the boat and onto land. Naruto cuts Toki free and tells her that her brother wanted her to lead Bird Country rather than seek revenge.

Houki attacks and Naruto uses Tajuu Kage Bunshin no jutsu but Houki counters with the same. The clones battle. The Houki clones dissipate when the Naruto clones try to hit them. Then Houki manages to land a hit on Naruto but it’s also a clone. Naruto and his clones attack the real Houki and Naruto uses his Uzumaki Naruto rendan to take him out.

Toki cries over Chishima’s body while Naruto ties up Houki. Chishima’s still alive. Toki’s watch now works. The rest of the team catch up.

Naruto complains even though they caught Moushou, they still don’t get paid. The team waits for the sentencing of the Watari shinobi. Toki appears in royal robes and Kakashi blushes! Toki makes a speech about how she wants to serve the country. Later the team, Toki and Shima say their good byes. As the team looks down at Bird Country from high above, Naruto says how ghosts don’t exist, but Neji reminds him that the first Noroimusha they chased was empty inside. Naruto freaks out at the possibility that it really was a ghost.

Review:
Disappointing ending to a pretty good filler arc.

Notes:

Nakitsuchi was mentioned by Toki, but nowhere else. Apparently made some sacrifice.

Thoughts:

Chishima seems to suspect Toki was Sagi all along.

Toki calls Chishima her best friend. Unlikely to be any future romance!
