Summary:

Naruto is eating noodles at Ichiraku. Shizune and 3 medics find him, tie him up and drag him back to the hospital. Shizune then pays his bill.

Sakura is standing at the bridge thinking of Sasuke, and Naruto's promise. She returns home to pack her bag, thinking of going after Sasuke herself.

Shizune has tied Naruto to the hospital bed with rope and tied his hands with "black hair" so that even a shinobi can't get away. Sakura comes for a visit so Shizune leaves. Naruto tells her he'll keep his promise but Sakura says it's ok and that all she did was depend on him and not do anything herself...this time she'll do her best. She leaves and then Jiraiya shows up eating Naruto's fruit. Naruto asks him to postpone his training so he can take care of some unfinished business.

Tsunade is at her desk. Jiraiya appears in the window behind her. Tsunade accuses him of peeping but he says who would want to peep at an old woman! Her veins start popping out. He says he's there to ask her a favor.

Naruto thinks of Sakura's last words and realizes she's going after Sasuke. He pulls apart his specially bound hands.

It's night when Sakura leaves Konoha but Naruto finds her. Jiraiya appears and tells them if they leave they would be considered missing-nins. But he has a mission for them, to investigate where Sasuke was taken, the Hidden Sound Village in the Rice Field Country. They are now his subordinates.

They arrive in Rice Country where Sakura notes it looks peaceful. Jiraiiya explains the feudal lord changed his policies in an attempt to expand the country and increase his status. Then Orochimaru came to him, but his only ambitions were to strengthen himself and continue with his plans for revenge. But Jiraiya doesn't know where Hidden Sound Village is so they have to find it. Jiraiya starts babbling about finding women at an inn.

There are many inns along Field Center Street, but there's no one around. Jiraiya smells face powder and asks Naruto for money. It's not enough so Sakura also gives him her purse. Jiraiya hands them his pack and scroll and tells them to wait for him. Jiraiya walks along the abandoned streets while eyes peer at him from the old buildings. Jiraiya enters an inn where he smells face powder. Two prostitutes say "the wild duck has come in with his long onion." Jiraiya sits down and asks for women, sake and young girls.

Meanwhile Naruto and Sakura wait. Naruto tells her Jiraiya will spend her money on woman but she doesn't care as long as it helps since she's unable to do anything.

Jiraiya is at the Dance House of Love with the two prostitutes. The owner hands him a bill then rings a bell and a number of thugs appear. She tells him to leave his things and run.

Meanwhile a young masked ninja attacks Naruto and Sakura with kunais. Naruto asks if she's working with Orochimaru. She thinks she made a mistake and throws a smoke bomb and disappears, but leaves behind tacks on the ground. Jiraiya runs pass them followed by the gang of thugs. He tells Naruto not to use ninjustu since they're supposed to be undercover so they all run away.

The masked ninja is seen headed toward Orochimaru's abode.

Review:

Fairly amusing filler episode with a possibly interesting premise.

Thoughts:

"the wild duck has come in with his long onion" is supposed to mean Jiraiya is a sucker, but it definitely has other connotations!
