Ep 132: Friend!

Kakashi is in Tsunade’s office. He just found out that Tsunade only sent rookies to bring back Sasuke. Tsunade says she had no choice but she made minimum necessary arrangements (sent the sand genin). Kakashi turns and walks out. Tsunade tells him his next mission has already been selected and holds up a sheet of paper that says "S class" with a little map and 3 figures. Kakashi says he’ll finish his business and come right back. Sakura runs up to Kakashi and says it’s already been two days since Sasuke left the village and the others haven’t returned. Kakashi tells her not to worry and to leave the rest to him.

Kakashi walks to the main gates of Konoha and perform the seals for Kuchiyose no jutsu (summoning technique) and a pack of eight dogs appear. He tells them to scatter and track down Naruto and Sasuke’s scent. The dogs run off. Sakura watches from behind. Kakashi thinks how it’s useless telling her not to worry when she saw them fight before. Kakashi flashbacks to the fight at the hospital, tying up Sasuke and giving him a lecture. Kakashi thinks how he was too naïve and it is really possible for them to kill each other. He then hears a dog howl and runs off, thinking "let me make it on time."

Back to Naruto and Sasuke’s fight. Locked hand to hand, Sasuke breaks off while taking a kunai from Naruto’s back pouch. He throws it at Naruto who counters with a shuriken. Sasuke then starts his chidori while Naruto uses kage bunshin to assist with his rasengan. Sasuke leaps down from above to the water. Naruto uses his clone to throw himself at Sasuke (in order to attain comparable speed). The two attacks clash directly and both are thrown back. Sasuke gets on top of the water first, thinking how his full powered chidori was pushed back this far. He thinks about Naruto’s technqiue and flashbacks to the fight at the hospital. He thinks back to Kakashi telling him his maximum is two shots with the chidori. Naruto lies on top of the water and finally realizes Sasuke is serious.

Sasuke thinks he’ll use continuous quickly executed moves and techniques to create an opening and then hit him with chidori. His cursed seal starts to activate. He says to Naruto "…two first class ninjas are able to read each other’s minds with just one exchange of their fists…you’re naïve…were you able to truly read inside my mind?" Sasuke performs the seal for katon housenka no jutsu (mythical phoenix fire technique) and shoots out a bunch of small fireballs. Naruto avoids them but Sasuke lands a punch and he falls into the water.

Naruto flashback to when he and Sasuke were kids: Naruto thinks how he always knew Sasuke was alone and at first when he realized there was someone like him he felt reassured and happy and he wanted to speak to Sasuke but he couldn’t because Sasuke could do anything and everyone praised him. The two of them were too different. Naruto felt jealous and decided that Sasuke was his rival. Naruto felt he was a loser even on team seven. He didn’t say what he really felt which was he wanted to be like Sasuke. When Sasuke first said he wanted to fight Naruto, that made him really happy since that was the first time Sasuke acknowledged him. All this time they never said out loud that they were friends. Naruto thinks how Sasuke said he was his closest friend but now he is seriously trying to kill him. Orange chakra swirls around Naruto and his teeth and nails elongate. Sasuke hits him with his chidori and blood splatters into the water.

Naruto flashback to him playing with other kids and then their moms come to take them away (Kiba, Choji, Shikamaru). Naruto walks alone and sees Sasuke. Sasuke looks at him and Naruto gets flustered and looks away.

Naruto says he doesn’t know why but he doesn’t want Sasuke to be taken by Orochimaru. Sasuke’s hand rams into Naruto’s right shoulder. Sasuke says he won’t be able to perform any seals or use that technique from before (rasengan). Sasuke grabs Naruto’s neck but Naruto, powered by his orange chakra, forces him back. The orange chakra becomes stronger and the fox demon manifests. The huge hole in Naruto’s shoulder heals. Naruto growls "Sasuke! I won’t let Orochimaru have you! Even if I have to break every bone in your arms and legs, I’ll stop you!"

Notes:

It appears that Kakashi left Konoha in the daytime and Naruto-Sasuke fight continues into dusk.

Naruto is upposed to have red chakra according to the subtitles but it looks orange.

It's already been two days since Sasuke left the village, probably more like a day and a half since he left at night and only one night has passed.

Shikamaru’s mom is dressed all raggedy like his dad.

Thoughts:

For someone worried about his genin, Kakashi is in no hurry when he leaves Tsunade's office!
