Ep 130: Father and Son. The Cracked Family Crest

Sasuke activates his sharingan. Naruto says he’ll show his real power too and uses kage bunshin but Sasuke easily destroys all the clones. Sasuke says with the sharingan he can easily see which is the real body. Sasuke grabs Naruto’s arm and says he’s not going to hold back, and flings Naruto away then performs the seals for Katon Goukakyuu no jutsu (fireball) aimed directly at Naruto.

Flashback: Sasuke lying in bed thinks of why Itachi’s eyes weren’t a normal sharingan. It’s been quite a while since that day but the relationship between Itachi and their father is strained. Itachi walks by Sasuke and their father without a word. Sasuke greets his father who then asks him about the academy. Sasuke responds that it’s boring since he’s always first. His father demonstrates to Sasuke the fireball technique over a lake. Sasuke ethusiatically tries to please his father but only manages a little fireball (very cute!). His father sighs and says "As I thought, you couldn’t manage it as well as Itachi could. It might have been too early for you." Then he walks away. Night comes and Sasuke is still practicing. Sasuke continues to practice and days later he improves. Sasuke returns home and his mom rubs ointment on his face and places bandages. Sasuke is bout to say something to her but then decides not to. He continues practicing. A week after his father showed him the technique, Sasuke asks his father to come with him. His father thinks it’s still too early but Sasuke says he got it now. Over the lake, Sasuke releases a huge fireball to his father’s surprise. His father doesn’t say anything but walks away then stops and says " You are my son indeed… be true to the family crest on your back…don’t chase after your brother anymore."

Alone in the kitchen with his mother, Sasuke asks what his father really thinks about him and his brother. He wonders whether he’s just Itachi’s replacement since he and their father haven’t been on good terms. His mother reassures him that his father always thinks about both of them. Itachi has to do missions for the clan and their father is a manager for those missions so he can’t help but look to Itachi. She claims that when he’s alone with her, he only talks about Sasuke.

Sasuke trains with kunais the way Itachi did in a previous episode but he misses the targets. He thinks more about Itachi and the day the Uchiha accused him. Then it's the day Sasuke asks Itachi to train with him from ep 84. Itachi apologizes and pokes him in the forehead. Later Sasuke is sitting with his dad for a meal and asks him about different types of sharingan. He says there is a doujutsu that is "above sharingan called mangekyou sharingan (kaleidoscope sharingan) a legendary doujutsu which appeared in only a few during the long history of Uchiha. There is a special condition in order to obtain it." Then Sasuke asks about why Itachi won’t watch over him (from ep 84). His father responds Itachi is different and doesn’t like to be friendly with people. Sasuke is relieved that his father didn’t hate Itachi.

Naruto hides behind a tree as Sasuke taunts his way of the ninja. Naruto appears from behind the tree but Sasuke punches him. Naruto leaps into the air. Sasuke follows him and lands more blows and finally punches him in the chest (looks like he crushed some ribs) and Naruto spits up blood.

Notes:

Fireball: Uchiha’s basic fire technique. Done by concentrating chakra then stop it at the chest and release it all at once.

Mangekyou sharingan (kaleidoscope sharingan) a legendary doujutsu which appeared in only a few Uchiha over its long history

In the Uchiha clan once you learn to use katon, you’re recognized as having come of age.

The Uchiha family crest means "One who has a fan capable of controlling fire."

Thoughts:

Sasuke says with the sharingan he can easily see which is the real body of Naruto’s clones, but Neji couldn’t differentiate it when he fought Naruto in the chuunin finals.
