Flashback to when Kiba first gets Akamaru from his mom. He picks him up and Akamaru immediately pees on him! Then Kiba and Akamaru play catch with a stick. Then Kiba’s mom knocks down Kiba telling him that he and Akamaru must become strong together. Then Akamaru practices his dynamic marking.

Ukon has been hit with several kunais but he’s still standing and seriously pissed off. He finds Sakon by the river washing his eyes. Ukon returns to stage 1 cursed seal stage and goes back to sleep within Sakon. He tells Sakon to capture them alive so he can kill him. Sakon agrees but says they both will kill them.

Meanwhile the Naruto clones are being easily taken out by Kimimaro. Then Kimimaro announces yanagi no mai (dance of the willow) and he runs straight into the line of clones and cuts them down, twirling a bit and jumping into the air, doing a split and somersaults. A bunch of clones attack him in midair but Kimimaro projects out spears of bone from all parts of his bodies, piercing all the clones. Kimimaro removes part of his shirt and a bone protrudes out from his shoulder. He grabs it like a sword. Naruto throws shurikens but Kimimaro blocks with his bone sword. Now he will show Naruto another dance, tsubaki no mai (dance of the camelia).

Meanwhile Tayuya is playing her flute and the three blind oni attack Shikmaru.

Kiba can tell Sakon/Ukon are getting closer. He sees the trail of blood he’s left and then he smells them coming. He tries to get up but is in so much pain he sits down again thinking that from the pain and loss of blood his vision is blurred and his body won’t move. Sakon sees Kiba and attacks, but it’s only his coat! Kiba has escaped into the river.

Meanwhile Shikamaru avoids being hit by the oni. He praises Tayuya for timing the three separate attacks well. Tayuya notes that Shikamaru was able to figure out that she controlled their movements with her flute and understood the difficulty of the melody, but he won’t be able to completely understand this melody. Shikamaru says he’s hopeless in arts but thinks how she is using a particular arrangement of sound patterns to control each of their moves. He thinks how he can’t read those tadpoles (musical notes) at all. Tayuya says no one has heard the final ninth verse and survived, the Haunt of Pandemonium. The three oni attack together!

Review:

Another good fight between Kiba and Sakon/Ukon but the Naruto-Kimimaro fight is not terribly interesting yet. Shikamaru's fight has great potential.

Notes:

Kimimaro says he has 5 dances, 2 so far:

Yanagi no mai = dance of the willow

Tsubaki no mai = dance of the camelia

Kimimaro's bloodline limit - bone is compressed to maximum density and is as hard as steel

Thoughts:

Ukon says his greatest strength is going into the enemy’s body and not getting injured. So is Ukon only capable of that?

Kiba’s mom looks real scary!
