Ep 108: The Invisible Crack

The Sound 4 are on their way to Konoha. Spider guy notes that they have no security.

Naruto and Sasuke are about to crash into Sakura, neither can stop! Kakashi appears from nowhere and grabs both of them by the wrist and throws them into the water tanks. He asks them what they are doing. Naruto has punctured a small hole in his water tank while Sasuke has punched a much larger hole and the water gushes out. Kakashi notes that Naruto's technique was the rasengan and wonders how can Naruto know it. Kakashi asks Sasuke if he planned to kill Naruto and why does he insist on being superior. He admonishes Sasuke that the chidori is not for using against someone from the same village and thinks it was because he saw Itachi. Sasuke runs away but looks up to see the back of Naruto's water tank which has been blown apart! He's furious at how much stronger Naruto is becoming.

Kakashi gives Naruto a sad look but says nothing. He sees Sakura crying and thinks where's the teamwork. He then asks Jiraiya if he was the one who taught Naruto that technique. Kakashi believes Naruto is too young to be using that technique, he could have killed Sasuke. Jiraiya says the could say the same thing, the chidori is very dangerous. But Jiraiya didn't think Naruto would use it against his friend, unless there is something much deeper between them. Kakashi says their relationship is like Jiraiya's and Orochimaru's. Kakashi explains that Naruto has always been trying to catch up to Sasuke and the current Naruto doesn't want recognition from me or you, but from Sasuke. Meanwhile Sasuke feels inferior as he sees Naruto getting stronger. Jiraiya offers to lecture Naruto while Kakashi says he has a mission and he has to speak to Sasuke about the chidori. Kakashi jumps down in from of Sakura and tells her everything will be fine, it will be like the old days again.

Naruto tells Sakura not to interfere. Meanwhile Sasuke sits under a tree and thinks about Itachi. The Sound 4 are watching him. Suddenly wires wrap around Sasuke and ties him to the tree. It's Kakashi!

Naruto walks by Jiraiya without stopping. Jiraiya gives him a look without saying anything. The Sound 4 recognizes Kakashi as the copy ninja.

Kakashi tells Sasuke to forget about revenge. He says ".I've seen a lot of people like you, and the fate of those who seek revenge is grim. It's tragic. You will end up suffering and hurting yourself even more. Even if you succeed in getting revenge, the only thing that remains is emptiness."

Sasuke gets mad and yells at Kakashi saying he doesn't know what it's like, then he says ".Should I kill the most important person to you right now?."

Kakashi responds, "Well, I won't mind if you do. Unfortunately, I no longer have anybody important to me. They've all been killed already." He's smiling as he says this. Kakashi then says how they're both unlucky but they're not completely out of luck, they both have important friends now. Sasuke thinks of Sakura and Naruto. Kakashi tells Sasuke he was given the power of the chidori because he made important friends not to use against friends or for revenge. Kakashi tells him to think carefully then leaves.

The Sound 4 decide to wait a while.

Kakashi is back in his room looking at his genin photo. Sakura and Naruto think of the past. Naruto sees Sakura and she asks him to walk with her. She tells hims about Orochimaru and the cursed seal he bit onto Sasuke.

Meanwhile Kabuto asks Orochimaru if it's necessary to send all four of them, Sasuke won't have a chance against them. Oro explains that's why he'll come to seek power. The Sound 4 introduce themselves to Sasuke. They attack, but Sasuke takes them all out. But they use kawarimi logs. Sasuke tells them he's in a bad mood and he won't hold back.

Notes:

Jiraiya appears behind the water tank that Kakashi is sitting on. Kakashi doesn't even turn his head to know he's there.

One of the memory flashbacks has Kakashi and his team at a picnic with a cup in his hand but he still has his mask on.

Would Sasuke really kill Kakashi's loved one just to prove a point?
