Neji to Dosu: "You're despicable, you bucolic nonentities think you're all that just because your sonic powers were strong enough to whump these novices." vs "Bah, I can't take anymore of this, some minor sound nins bullying these second rate ninjas and declaring victory." (bucolic means rustic)

Neji: "The kid with the Moe Howard hairdo belongs to us." vs That knocked out freak right there is from our team."

Shikamaru: "I hope it's not an imposition Ino, but I'm leaving Lee in your care." vs "This sucks but Ino you take care of Lee." (since when is Shikamaru so polite?)

 

Ch 57: Ten Hours Earlier

Ino thinks: "Look at Sakura, bluffing with that coy smile. as if we don't know we'd be dead without her and Sasuke!" vs "Pft.Sakura's hiding her feelings again."

Lee to Tenten: "Your words are so sharp if I try to answer back, I'll cut myself!" vs "Haha.I can't argue with you there." (since when does Lee talk back?)

Shikamaru: "Naruto is like the Olympic Champion of cluelessness." vs "He is totally clueless." (are there ninja Olympics?)

Choji: "He's one of life's natural born supporting players.a guy who couldn't even cut it as the star of his own life. (or of his own comic!)" vs "He must be the type that could never become the main character of a story."

Sakura: "My skills have been taken to a whole new level." vs. "I feel like I've become a little stronger."

Lee: "The fighting lotus of Konoha village will grow and flower again." vs "The leaf lotus blooms twice."

Ch 58: Witnesses.!!

Shino: "Chill out! It's way too early to celebrate! These woods are crawling with enemies, you know!" Vs "Let's not get ahead of ourselves.that's dangerous. Let's be cautious and not draw the enemy's attention, that is safest." (Shino does not talk like that!)

Shino: "That guy's so unpleasant even a bug wouldn't bite him." vs "Sigh, why is he like this?"

Gaara: "Are you going to fight us.or talk us to death? We don't take orders from fossils like you.even if you wow them back in the village of rain!" vs "Enough talking let's do it.old man from the hidden rain."

Jyoro-senbon = raining needles from heaven = raining needles

While waiting for the fish Naruto sings: "Oh! Hungry, I'm hungry! Hurry up and be ready to get in my tummy!" vs "Ahhhh!!! I wish it would cook faster!!!"

Rain-nin Oboro says "Sweet" instead of "lucky" - his catch phrase.

 

Ch 61: The Path You Should Tread.!!

More loquacity, this time from Kabuto to Sasuke: "You're more interested in making a big gesture than in reaching your goal.otherwise you wouldn't have run the risk of issuing that pretentious formal challenge. You put me on guard and assured yourself of a fair fight. If you were truly committed.you would have just blindsided me." vs "You aren't as coldhearted as you say. If this test had really turned you into that.then why would you even ask to challenge me? Instead of doing that.you could have just attacked me and tried to take the scroll."

 

Ch 62: Trapped Like Rats!!
