Haku (re Naruto): "His chakra is physically manifesting itself" vs. "That's impossible for chakra to.change like this"

Kakashi (re Naruto): "This power, this energy is foul, it's evil and familiar, but it can't be!"  vs.  "This terrible chakra, it can't be!"

KaKashi (re Naruto): "Has the binding spell begun to unravel? Is the seal broken?" vs.  "Seal has been broken?"

Kakashi (to Zabuza): "I'm a busy man. You're a busy man. We've both got a lot on our plates and it goes against the grain to suggest this, but what do you say we stop screwing around and wrap this up right now? One big move, winner take all?"  vs.  "Neither of us has time to waste. This might not suit your style but let's end the fun and finish this now!"

Haku (re Naruto): "I am finished" vs. "I cannot defeat this boy."

Ch 29: Someone Precious to You

Naruto (to Haku): "You're the kid I met this morning."  vs. "You...you're from that time" (This makes more sense since Naruto met Haku yesterday morning, not this morning.)

Kakashi (to Zabuza): "Every dog has his nose and they all know you stink. So who's enmeshed in whose spell now?" vs.  "Their sense of smell exceeds that of all other dogs, you are the one trapped in my jutsu." (Considering the dogs are tracking Kakashi's blood, why would he say Zabuza stinks? Viz translations sucks again!)

Ch 30: Your Future Is.!!

Zabuza (to Kakashi): "Spare me the civics lesson and philosophy. I'm fighting for my own ideals." vs.  "I don't give a damn. I fight for my own ideals."

Naruto (to Haku): "What is with you? You're used to being the toughest. You don't like to lose, I get that, but wanting to die just 'cause someone beat you is crazy. There's more to life than just fighting, there's more to you. Your boss must like you for more than just that...right? Doesn't he?"   vs.   "I don't understand. Is being strong the only reason for you to be alive? Something other than fighting, you could have been acknowledged for something else."

Sakura (to Tazuna): "Which one is your master Kakashi?" vs. "Which one is Kakashi-sen." (In the Viz version it would make more sense that Tazuna says it.)

Ch 31: To Each His Own Struggle

Nothing annoying noted.

Ch 32: The Tools Called Shinobi

Kakashi (to Zabuza): "Now you can't use either arm, no spells, no katas, no chakra." vs. "Now both arms are useless, you can't even perform a seal."

Gato (to Zabuza): "It's such a bother hiring a skilled shinobi affiliated with one of the top villages. It's expensive and they tend to have friends who object when I betray and kill them. It's so much simpler to hire ukenin-renegades like yourself. No one cares what I do to your kind once the job is done." Vs.  "Hiring a normal ninja from the village is expensive and they may betray me. So I get you missing-nins who are easy to take care of afterwards." (Connotation is different. Maybe a mistranslation in the fan scanlation since why would a hired mercenary betray him?)

Gato (to Haku): "You crushed my arm until you almost broke the bones."  Vs. "You squeezed my arm until it broke." (Did it break or not?)

Naruto (to Zabuza): "Hey, why don't you do something? He worked for you! He was practically your slave! Say something too! Weren't you friends?" vs. "Is.that how you get... when your powers are as strong as yours are.If I become as strong as you, will I really become like you." (totally different!)

Zabuza (to Gato): "Even an ogre in name only...a washout from Kirigakure village can become a real demon in how he meets his death." Vs. "Even the unremarkable devil of the Hidden Mist can die and become a real devil in hell."

Ch 33: The Bridge of the Hero

Kakashi (re Zabuza): "This was the end of a man who lived full out." vs. "The end of a man who lived a difficult life."

Sasuke: "Sakura your arm's heavy." Vs.  "Sakura you're heavy."

Kakashi: "I'm afraid with the lightning blade, the illusions and conjurations... for the moment, I've exhausted my chakra" vs. "I can't...after the lightning edge summons and sharingan, I used too much chakra." (Kakashi used his sharingan but didn't project any illusions so Viz translation is off again.)

Kakashi: "I can't manage anything solid with my chakra so low." Vs.  "I can do that at least." (This is when Kakashi does kage bunshin like Naruto to scare off the mob. Kage bunshins are solid forms so the Viz translation is inaccurate. Or maybe Kakashi does regular bunshin only.)

Kakashi: "A shinobi shouldn't be concerned with a reason for her own existence. It is important merely that we exist as a tool for our homeland to use in whatever way they need That's as true for us in Konohagure as it for ninja anywhere else." Vs.  "A shinobi isn't supposed to pursue his own goals, becoming the country's tool is most important. That's the same for the Leaf village." (Notice the "her" in the Viz translation.)

Kakashi (when Sasuke asks if he feels that way): "We'll...no and that's why all we ninja live our lives with that ideal always bubbling beneath the surface of our minds, disturbing us like it did Zabuza." Vs. "Well...each and every ninja has to live while dealing with that issue just like Zabuza." (Kakashi doesn't actually say 'no' )

Sakura calls Naruto and Inari "Boneheads" instead of saying "Geez, they're like twins."

Tsuname regarding naming the bridge after Naruto "It's a nice name dad" but no one is attributed the line "He He that's a good name."

Ch 34: Intruders

Naruto: "Grr those two... every time we go on a mission, they end up showing me up and saving me but not this time."  Vs.   "Damn it, this guy always make me look bad and stealing the spotlight. I won't lose." (Viz translation implies Naruto is referring to both Sakura and Sasuke instead of just the latter.)

Sakura (after Sasuke says she's worse than Naruto): "He's right...it doesn't matter what our mission is. They're all the same to me... 'cause I'm always the weakest the one with almost no special skills." Vs.  "He's right, in every mission I do the least." (Thanks Viz for spelling out how useless Sakura is.)

Iruka: "Your team's seen a lot of action lately. Naruto hasn't had time to get together with me once. I can't help worrying about him." Vs. "I've been busy lately. I haven't seen him since he got back. I'm a little worried." (Iruka was the one who was busy, not Naruto's team. Why the change?)

Kakashi: "You know how it is, Master Iruka. Uchiha Sasake is in our cell too. He and Naruto are like a couple of dogs always circling each other, snapping and snarling, but it keeps Naruto on his toes. He's developing fast. He's always hoping to catch up to his hero...you."   vs.  "As you know, he's with that Uchiha Sasake. He sees him as his rival and they argue a lot, but the results are that they both are improving greatly, almost enough to surpass you."

Ch 35: Iruka vs. Kakashi

Kakashi: "Cell number 7 led by Kakashi consists of Uchiha Sasuke, Urumaki Naruto, and Haruno Sakura. I vow upon the honor of my clan the Hatake that all three of them are ready for the chunin selection exam." Vs.  "The Kakashi led team 7, Uchiha Sasuke, Urumaki Naruto, and Haruno Sakura under the name of Hatake Kakashi, I nominate them to take the chuunin selection exam."

Sasuke (re Gaara): "He glares like a basilisk." Vs. "He has strange eyes."

Temari (re chuunin exam): "Ever hear the old saying about it being the darkest at the base of the brightest lighthouse, weren't you informed?" vs. "Talk about clueless, don't you know anything?" (Lighthouse?)

Sasuke (re Lee): "There's something weird about his chakra."  Vs. "What's this chakra in his arms?"

Sakura (re Lee's date request): "No way, you are way out of hand!" vs. "No way you're lame!"

Lee (to Sasuke): "Hey you with the scowl, wait up.."  vs. "Hey guy with the dark eyes."
