Ch 73: Announcement of Defeat (ep 42)

Naruto's pep talk to Sakura, "if you lose to that Sasuke idiot, you're not a woman."

Ino says, "two minds, what are you?" when she gets kicked out of Sakura's mind.

Sakura says, "did you know women have to be tough to survive."

Kakashi thinks, "Once you are caught in that jutsu, it isn't easy to push out the invader. Ino's lack of chakra may be part of it, but more important may be Sakura's burning desire to defeat her rival Ino. Naruto's cheer acted as a trigger to awaken that and that defeated the jutsu, that's not even it... Sakura is the same as Naruto, her inability to accept defeat is beyond the average person. (yeah, whatever...)

Don't show anything of Tenten's fight With Temari, only Tenten's fall on top of the fan at the end.

 

Ch 74: The 6th Match and Then (ep 43)

Neji tells Lee to stop vs. Temari, then Gai interferes.

Sakura tells Naruto not to lose to those guys, if you lose here, you're not a man, how would you face Sasuke.

Kin vs. Shikmaru fight is shorter, one less round of needles, and Kin's bells do not have the special effect of disorienting Shikamaru.

Ch 75: Naruto's Growth...!! (ep 44)

The 2 (transfer) students (in the anime) call Naruto the new kid, so maybe Naruto is the transfer student.

Kiba doesn't seem to know Naruto, so they don't appear to have been in the same class for 3 years.

Naruto says he let Kiba hit him to test his strength.

 

Ch 76: Kiba's Comeback!! Naruto's Comeback!!? (ep 44)

Kiba is shown eating a soldier pill (also in anime but was not obvious, very easy to miss).

When Akamaru barks he says "human effect ninpou" while Kiba does "beast effect ninpou."

Soldier pill contains stimulant, no mention of tranquilizer.

Naruto says "if you're going to compete with me for Hokage, I'm going to whip you like a dog."

Ch 77: Naruto's Trick!! (ep 45)

Naruto says "think before using a jutsu or it will get used against you and also don't fall for such obvious traps, idiot." Kakashi just laughs to himself, in anime he thinks that's exactly what he said to Naruto (ep 4)

 

Ch 78: Neji and Hinata (ep 46)

Translation "oldest and greatest bloodline."

Sakura asks if they are cousins.

 

Ch 79: The Hyuga Clan (ep 46-47)

Naruto says "stand up for yourself, this is hard to watch."

Gai explanation - damage to outer body iron fist style, Hyuga causes damage by flowing their chakra into opponent's inner coils systems, a technique that destroys the inner organs, gentle fist style.

 

Ch 80: Surpass the Limit... (ep 47)

Kurenai thinks, "Hinata, you used to be always a quitter, but you began to try and change herself...but you'd always fail in the missions, you were weak when it mattered most and you'd quickly lose confidence..."
