Ch 28: Nine Tails (ep 16)
Kakashi and Zabuza at first thinks it's the other when Naruto release the ninetails chakra. Kakashi - "this terrible chakra it can't be..." Zabuza thinks - "Kakashi, no too strong to be him".
Looks like Naruto grabs Haku before he can transfer to next mirror.
Haku says "Damn I can't push back this Ki!" (I think he means "kid" or maybe chi)
Ends with Haku's mask breaking.
Ch 29 An Important Person (ep 17)
Does not show Haku's father and men killing his mother or Haku killing his father.
Ends with Kakashi's nin dogs.
Ch 30 Your Future is.!! (ep 18)
Kakashi starts his lightning edge and asks Zabuza to surrender.
Kakashi got blood all over him from killing Haku, his fist goes right through Haku!
End - Zabuza says "you're wrong again Kakashi!"
Ch 31 Their Own Battles (ep 18)
Inari goes around town, Sakura makes shinobi speech.
Ends with Kakashi holding kunai to Zabuza's head.
Ch 32: A Tool Called Shinobi (ep 19)
Gatou - "hiring a normal ninja from the village is expensive, and they may betray me, so I get you missing nins who are easy to take care of afterwards."
(Never explains why Haku had a leash on.)
When Naruto rushes in Kakashi says "Hey! Look at their numbers, don't just jump in." Naruto says to die as a tool that's just too sad. (Why does Naruto flip Zabuza a kunai, his arms are useless!)
Zabuza cuts off Gatou's head!
Ends with Zabuza collapsing after killing Gatou.
Ch 33: The Bridge of Heroes! (ep 19)
Kakashi says after using lightning edge (overkill!), summoning, and sharingan, used too much chakra.
2 weeks later at gravesite - Naruto reaches for grave offerings and Sakura slaps his hand, says it's bad karma.
Kakashi says a shinbobi isn't supposed to pursue his own goals, becoming the country's tool is most important, that's the same for leaf village. Each and every ninja has to live while dealing with that issue.
Sakura does not throw Naruto off the bridge.
Ch 34: Intruders!? (ep 20)
Kakashi is 3 hours late! Says "Hey guys, I got lost."
Sakura - "stop lying with a straight face!!! Give it a rest."
Doesn't show mission of pulling weeds.
Bird flying over head drops a feather to Kakashi.
Konohamaru calls Sakura an ugly "Bitch"
Ch 35: Iruka vs. Kakashi!? (ep 21)
Iruka says most of the nine rookies were students of his at the academy. Who wasn't?
Gaara (has white hair) - Sasuke thinks that's Kakashi level sneakiness.
Gaara says "Shut up, I'll kill you."
Kankuro says "OK I'm sorry"
Temari says "I'm also sorry, really sorry."
Map, Temari's explanation of chuunin exams (not Kabuto) - Main purpose is to improve relations between allies and raise shinobi level but each country likes to maintain a power balance.
Naruto asks Konohamaru if he should take the exam. Temari gets mad - "you bastard, you asked the question, listen till the end."
Sound genin (Dosu) says "blackhaired leaf and sand with gourd, lets keep our eyes on them."
Ch 36: Sakura's Depression (ep 21)
Kakashi's late, got lost on the road of life.
Sign papers and return them at room 301 by 4PM tomorrow (rather than in a few days)
No pre-tests by Iruka for the rookies.
Chuunin often become captain of military team.
Sakura is the one to think about Lee (not Sasuke) - he's fast was able to see both kicks and slide himself in between.
(Why does Lee say you guys go ahead and he follows team 7? Shouldn't everyone be going to the same room, not just team 7?)
