Ch 118: Orochimaru's Summoning (ep 69-70)

The second Hokage greets the third as "It's been a long time, eh, Monkey." Pun on Sarutobi where saru means monkey (no wonder summons is the monkey king).

Shikamaru seems to curse a lot more.

Kageshibari no jutsu = shadow bind technique

Kagemane = shadow imitation

Ends with Shikamaru thinking how his chakra won't last long.

Ch 119: The Decoy Plan (ep 70-71)

Watching Asuma fight in the anime is much cooler.

But then Asuma actually puts out his cigarette in a pool of blood in the manga.

Orochimaru inserts "fuda" into the summoned hokages.

Ch 120: Konoha Kuzushi (ep 71)  (what does this title mean?)

Dragon Missiles look more like dragons in the anime.

Sword of Kusanagi - Japanese myth -sword found in giant snake Yamato no Orochi when the hero Susanoou cut him open.

When Enma asks why the Hokage is not acting like himself, it's because the Hokage is old and finds the staff too heavy. This is not clear in the anime.

When the Third tries to hit Orochimaru with the staff, Enma's face is projected, in the anime his arm comes out and grabs Orochimaru by the throat.

The third blows off the left leg of the first and the right leg of the second and they both remain standing (in the anime one loses an arm instead and both fall down)

When Third thinks of using the fourth's techniques, he says to Orochimaru "The jutsu exchanges stop here! From here on, it will be a blood drenched free-for-all - just like how a shinobi battle should be!"

Ch 121: Leaf History (ep 71-72)

After revealing his young face, Orochimaru says "It's been more than 10 years since I left the village, I suffered quite a bit." (Wonder how he suffered.)

Flashback scene when Hokage finds Orochimaru's secret experiment lab - instead of jars of organs and coffins, manga shows at least 15 bodies strung up or lying around.

Ends with the Hokage realizing Orochimaru wants Sasuke's body.

Ch 122: Like Tsugarete Yukuishi!! (ep 72)  (what does this title mean?)

No fight between Temari and Sasuke.

In the flashback where Orochimaru escapes, he used some sort of blast that knocked down the 2 Anbu, the Third and Enma. Doesn't seem like anyone died. In the anime, the 2 Anbu looked like they were killed while the Third and Enma did not appear to be affected at all. (Manga makes more sense.)

Ch 123: The Final Sealing (ep 73)

The Third appears to use his sense of smell to catch the First and Second.

It seems that the Third became hokage very young, about 8-12, or maybe he was just nominated then.

Ends with the sword going through the Third.

Ch 124: The Eternal Battle (ep 73)

Jiraiya uses Watchtower destroyer jutsu.

Sasuke catches up to the Sand genin. Temari takes Gaara and Kankurou is about to fight Sasuke when Shino arrives. There was no fight between Temari and Sasuke.

Ends with Shino to face Kankurou.

Ch 125: The Awakening. (ep 74)

In anime Temari tries to treat Gaara's wound then he knocks her away. In manga he just knocks her way.

Sasuke says "although I don't know the motives of your village, I will stop you...I want to see your true face."

Gaara says in flashback at Sasuke's training "Your eyes have the same look, the need to seek out power, the determination and the bloodlust...You that is strong, You that have companions, You that has an ambition. You that is like me, once I kill you I will be the one to have destroyed all that, only then can I survive, only then can I feel alive."

Ends with Gaara transforming.

Ch 126: Careless.!! (ep 74)

No significant differences in Shino-Kankurou fight or student evacuation, etc.

Ends with Shino collapsing from the poison gas.
